Sparks Elementary will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a Hollywood theme of events occurring off and on during the day of Friday, May 9th. Movie stars of stage and screen will be seen roaming all over Sparks that day. A photo booth will be available to capture the stars of the day and evening. In addition, the school’s cornerstone and time capsule will be unveiled during the day and the library will feature a museum display of Sparks’ memorabilia and achievements. The school’s namesake, Genevieve Sparks, passed away several years ago but her memory will be brought back to our students and staff with a visit from her four sons who will be bringing photographs and remembrances of their mother. The day’s events will culminate with an Open House for the public from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Former teachers, support staff, and students are invited to attend. The school and classrooms will be open with teachers and staff greeting visitors. Sparks walls and halls will have student work displayed. In the cafeteria, there will be a slide show of Sparks’ 25 years, movie theater concessions, cookies and punch served. For more information, please call the school at 713-740-0744. |
