Pasadena ISD Instructional Technology Specialist Kelli Erwin
attended the Teacher Innovator Summer Camp, sponsored by Learning.com. The three-day camp was held in Portland, Oregon
and gave Erwin and 18 other selected teachers, a unique
opportunity to design, share, and learn innovative ways to
integrate digital curriculum into their instruction.
As part of her application, Erwin had students create a book of
idioms, both in a print version and in a video presentation.
Teachers were chosen from a national pool of applicants who
submitted online projects that demonstrate innovation.
At the camp, teachers learned how to create and adapt online
lessons using Learning.com tools, and shared their experience
integrating technology into their instruction. Participants also
learned how to integrate online journaling and project-based
learning into their teaching. The camp was directed by Michele
Douglass, Ph.D., an experienced teacher, district curriculum
director and professional development instructor.
