The students of Mae Smythe Elementary have been collecting “Pennies for Poway” the last several weeks. Poway ISD is a school district in California that was affected by the wildfires that recently struck the state.  Mae Smythe students collected $800 worth of pennies to help those in need in Poway ISD. Students pictured helping collect money are fifth graders Emilie Linares and Timothy McClure.
