Morris students, volunteers roll up their sleeves
to plant trees on school campus

Fifth-grade students, teachers and volunteers from Morris Middle School, along with associates from The Home Depot and members of the community joined forces to plant 75 trees at the school’s campus.

 

The event was part of the Arbor Day Foundation and The Home Depot Foundation’s national “Trees for Success” tree-planting program.

 

Morris Middle School was selected among nearly 200 schools, parks and neighborhoods nationwide based on its need for trees, civic and local support, student involvement, plan for upkeep and location. Morris Middle School many trees during Hurricane Ike in September. Trees planted during the campaign will help replace those trees, and will also provide shade for portable classrooms on the campus.
