Officer Jason Grice
Officer Jason Grice, the son of Robert and Sharon Grice, was born May 6, 1977 in Texas City. Jason attended the Texas City Independent School District and was graduated from Texas City High School in 1995.
Jason and his family moved to League City in 1995 where he began work as a legal assistant in his Step-Father's law office. During this time he was also employed as a Private Investigator for a private security company.
Avid bowlers, Jason and his wife Krystal, enjoy entering many local bowling tournaments. Jason has one 300 game and one 800 series of record as well as nearly 20 unofficial perfect games.
Jason received his Basic Certification from the Alvin Community College Law Enforcement Academy in May, 2002 and was employed by the Pasadena ISD Police Department on September 10, 2002.
Jason has been an active member of the PISD PD Honor Guard since its inception in 2006. He has attended and participated in funerals of Officers that have fallen in the line of duty.
In August, 2007, Officer Grice was assigned to the Canine Unit as an Explosive Ordnance Detection K-9 handler. Officer Grice and his partner, "Sabo" have spent hundreds of hours training and preparing for potential threats.
Officer Grice has also been assigned the task of assisting in the training of the Officers of our Department in confronting active shooters and other acts of school violence. In the summer of 2006, Jason was one of four officers selected to travel to Laredo, Texas to share training practices with the Emergency Response Team of the Laredo ISD Police Department.
Jason is an active member of the Pasadena ISD Police Officers Association and was elected Secretary of the Association by his peers. The Association is honored to provide scholarships to deserving students within the District.
In view of all these accomplishments, and his unswerving dedication to duty, Officer Grice is awarded the distinction of being PISD Police Department's 2008 Officer of the Year. |
