INSURANCE AND ANNUITIES MANAGEMENT: 
LIABILITY AND LIABILITY INSURANCE 
CRB-R (LOCAL)

LIABILITY INSURANCE	The District shall maintain liability insurance in the total amount of $1 million for all employees who are exposed to individual liability by virtue of their official duties.
TORT CLAIMS ACT INSURANCE	The District shall purchase insurance in the following amounts to fulfill the requirements of the Texas Tort Claims Act: 1. Bodily Injury -         $100,000 per person                                 $300,000 per accident 2. Property Damage - $100,000          Medical -               $2,500 per individual for passengers of school buses
COVERAGE	The above policy covers accidents involving: 1. District-owned vehicles 2. Non-District-owned vehicles (owned by District employees but used in      the performance of their duties). 3. Rented vehicles (rental cars, chartered buses, cars owned by     individuals paid to transport students or other employees). The above policy does not cover: 1. Students who drive their cars as part of a school activity (D.E., band,      athletics, etc.) 2. Drivers Education students, who are covered under a separate insurance      policy. 3. Privately owned automobiles of employees.
REQUIREMENTS	In order for the District to qualify for insurance, employees must observe the following requirements: 1. Any employee deriving a motor vehicle on school business must have a      valid Texas driver’s license and be able to meet state laws regarding      automobile liability. 2. Any employee who is involved in an accident while driving a motor vehicle      on school business must file a completed school accident report with      the Business Office no later than 72 hours after the accident. Accident      report forms are available in the principal or supervising administrator’s      office or in the Business Office.
