'E-Bus' pulls in to Jessup for
some
high-tech reading instruction
Students are receiving an educational experience of a
lifetime as the “E-Bus” has rolled into Jessup Elementary School.
Because of Hurricane Katrina’s impact on schools in Pasadena ISD and
statewide, Pearson Education has made available one of its “E-Buses,” a
specially designed mobile digital classroom, to teachers and students at
Jessup.
Each bus is specially outfitted with 14 computer workstations, chairs,
desks and reading spaces. The digital learning program allows students
to receive 55-minute blocks of instruction, using programs such as
SuccessMaker, KnowledgeBox and Waterford Early Reading programs for
reading and math intervention. The programs also serve as a tool for
teachers to identify each individual student’s academic needs and
monitor their functional progress.
