The National Gold Star School program recognizes outstanding elementary and middle-level campuses where learning communities work together to improve performance and support student success. NAESP identifies effective schools as those organized around an established culture, empowered people and optimal systems, with each element working together to strengthen the others.
Under the leadership of Principal Christina Serna, Park View Intermediate has focused on creating a campus culture grounded in relationships and a shared mission. The school emphasizes a sense of belonging, ensuring students feel supported both academically and socially.
Efforts to strengthen culture and leadership throughout their campus community and teachers included structuring opportunities for student connection and family engagement, as well as intentional practices designed to create a positive school climate. These approaches reflect the campus’ belief in building a strong foundation where all students can succeed.
In addition, the campus has implemented systems designed to meet the needs of its diverse student population. These include targeted instructional support, collaborative planning and structured interventions that help ensure students receive individualized attention.
