Bondy Intermediate and Walmart Spread Holiday Cheer to Families in Need

This Christmas season, Bondy Intermediate administrators wanted to find a way to support families in need on their campus. Counselor Britney Subinsky reached out to Walmart’s Fairmont location, hoping to get help sponsoring a few students from their list of 30.
After considering the request, Store Manager Rhandel Y. and the management team decided to skip their annual employee gift exchange and instead “pass it forward” to the students at Bondy Intermediate.
“This felt more important. We did all the shopping and even prepared all the gift wrapping,” said HR People Lead Yolanda Cabrera.
In the end, Walmart staff sponsored gifts for all 30 students, which made a huge impression on the Bondy Intermediate staff.
Principal Roneka Lee shared, “Collaborations with community partners like Walmart are great because we can go beyond education to help our kids.”
Parents will pick up the presents next week, ensuring a surprise for the children—who won’t know the items were donated.
