Coordinator, K12 Mathematics

Sondra E Cano, Ed.D, is an accomplished educator with a strong background in mathematics education. She currently serves as the Coordinator for K12 Mathematics at Pasadena ISD, where she excels in coordinating, coaching, and managing curriculum development and professional development initiatives. Dr. Cano holds a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on STEM, a Master of Science in Multicultural Studies in Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematical Science from UHCL.

With a wealth of experience, Dr. Cano has held various roles in academia, including serving as an Adjunct Professor/Instructional Assistant at the University of Houston-Clear Lake and Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington. Her expertise includes teaching a wide range of subjects such as content-based ESL, cross-curricular literacy, mathematics methods, and STEM topics.

Dr. Cano is a dedicated professional who is actively involved in the educational community, presenting at numerous workshops and professional development events. She is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics, Texas Association of Supervisors of Mathematics, and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

Her commitment to advancing mathematics education is evident through her extensive service on various committees and boards, showcasing her passion for enhancing learning experiences for students and educators alike.
