Ruth Tenorio

District Specialist, HS Mathematics

Ruth Tenorio is a servant leader with a strong passion for mathematics and the belief that mathematics education can change student’s lives. Ms. Tenorio grew up in East End Magnolia (the “barrio”) with her parents Lina and Santiago Morales who immigrated to the country in the early 80’s. As the youngest of three daughters, Ms. Tenorio witnessed and lived the values of education, hard work, and sacrifice. She graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 2014 and then again in 2019 with a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Mathematics Education. Ms. Tenorio served as a mathematics teacher at DeZavala Middle School, Rick Schneider Middle School and Pasadena Memorial High School. She then served as the campus coach and campus content specialist at J. Frank Dobie High School before moving on to serve as the Instructional Specialist for High School Mathematics.

Ms. Tenorio is a member of the Texas Association of Supervisors of Mathematics, the Houston Area Mathematics Network, and the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics.
