Amanda grew up in League City, Texas, and was raised by her father, a Vice President in the trucking industry. The eldest of seven children, Amanda graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1997. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a focus in Mathematics from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a Master of Education in Leadership and Policy Studies from St. Thomas University.

Amanda began her teaching career at Park View Intermediate, where she taught 7th and 8th grade math, including co-teach and Pre-AP classes. In 2015, she became the campus math specialist at Miller Intermediate, and has since supported both Morris Middle School and Tegeler Career Center. She also mentors new instructional coaches in the Aspiring Instructional Coaching Academy at Pasadena ISD, bringing over 20 years of educational experience.

Amanda is especially proud of raising her two daughters. Her oldest daughter graduated from Pasadena Memorial High School Early College and now works in Pasadena ISD, while her youngest attends Deer Park High School. Amanda is also passionate about cheering on her youngest at soccer games.

Notably, Amanda played a pivotal role in implementing the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at Work process, earning Miller Intermediate the distinction of a Model PLC at Work school.
