- A minimum of 30 academic semester hours of college credit (English, Math, Science and Social Studies hours verified by official transcripts) for substitute teacher
- A high school diploma or GED for substitute paraprofessional-teacher’s aide and/or clerical
- Valid RN or LVN License for substitute nurse
- Excellent people skills
- Proficiency in English language
- Complete Online Orientation and Behavior Management Training at your own pace offered by the district
- Cleared National Criminal History, which includes a $49.26 fee, at time of fingerprinting if paid by credit/debit card or $48.25 if paid by money order

- Application is reviewed for minimum requirements for the position.
- Fingerprint request and Orientation Invite are emailed to every qualified applicant.
- Upon approved completed fingerprints and completion of orientation, Onboarding Documents are emailed.
- Once the Onboarding Documents are completed, a follow up email is received to schedule an appointment for badge and final documentation.
- You are ready for your first assignment 24 hours after the last appointment.

Yes, the bonus is as follows for teacher and nurse substitutes only. Retirees receiving the standard retiree rate are excluded.

No, substitutes do not contribute to Teacher Retirment System nor Social Security. Substitutes and Temporary employees contribute to Deferred Compensation or 457(b) FICA Alternative. The company that handles these accounts is IPX Retirement.
