Participation in Extracurricular Activities

  • In 11th and 12th grade, students are still allowed to participate in extracurricular activities, such as Fine Arts and Athletics, at their home high school campus.

  • ECHS Counselors work closely with the Educational Planners in the SJC Dual Credit offices to coordinate student schedules.

  • Students may need to take initial credit HS and/or college classes in the summer (and SJC mini sessions) to ensure that they meet all the HS graduation and Associate Degree requirements, while participating in their approved extracurricular activity each year.

  • PISD transportation is provided to SJC. Currently, we are able to provide transportation from the high schools to SJC for electives at designated class periods.

  • High school coaches and fine arts directors typically work with the ECHS team in order to best meet the needs of students.  ECHS is a tremendous opportunity that can be life-changing for students well-beyond their four-years in high school, so we encourage students and parents to speak with coaches and directors to help support this collaboration!
