An accomplished educator with over 17 years of experience, I hold certifications in English Language Arts and Reading for grades 8-12, as well as English as a Second Language Supplemental. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas A&M in May 2006, following my completion of coursework at the University of Texas A&M – Commerce and summer classes at Northeast Texas Community College after graduating high school in 2002.
Throughout my career, I have served as an educator in various capacities within the Pasadena Independent School District. Currently, I am an educator at Dr. Kirk Lewis Career and Technical High School, where I have taken on additional roles, including English Department Head and PL Department Head. Notable achievements include being named Teacher of the Year for the 2016-2017 school year and serving as a Summit Learning Fellow.
My previous roles include teaching at Tegeler Career Center and the APEx Program, where I designed interdisciplinary projects, integrated technology into lessons, and presented at national conferences. My collaborative skills, organizational abilities, and technological proficiency have been instrumental in leading professional development sessions and facilitating curriculum development.
