Jennifer Brabston is a dedicated librarian at Lewis Career and Technical High School.The 2024-2025 school year marks her 33rd year in education and her 27th as a school librarian. A proud graduate of South Houston High School, Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Reading and Math, as well as her Librarian Certification from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
Jennifer began her career as a sixth grade reading teacher at Miller Intermediate within the Pasadena Independent School District. Throughout her extensive career, she has served students across various grade levels, including Pre-K and 5th - 12th grades. Since joining the CTHS staff in 2015, she has been committed to fostering a love of reading, encouraging critical thinking, aiding students in making informed decisions, and promoting personal growth. She strives to address the diverse needs of the community she serves.
In addition to her role as a librarian, Jennifer has had the honor of presenting on literacy and technology at various levels, including campus, district, and state forums. Her professional involvement extends to serving on several committees, including the TASL Administrator of the Year Selection Committee, the TAYSHAS Young Adult Reading List Committee, and the Lariat Adult Fiction Reading List Committee for the Texas Library Association. Furthermore, she currently fulfills the role of webmaster for the CTHS campus, demonstrating her commitment to both education and technology.
