Veronica Powell

Librarian

Department:
South Houston Intermediate

I've been a proud educator at South Houston Intermediate for over 20 years. I spent 15 years teaching 8th grade Reading and Writing, as well as electives like AVID, media literacy, and GT enrichment. Becoming the campus librarian was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream, allowing me to blend my appreciation of books with my passion for student learning.

I hold Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and History from Texas A&M and a Master of Library Science degree from Sam Houston State University. Inspired by my love of reading and the impact libraries had on my educational journey, I’m dedicated to creating a welcoming space where every student can explore their interests and discover the book that turns them into a lifelong reader.

In my personal time, I'm a big overthinker, professional Amazon shopper, and proudly embrace my tagline: "Mother, teacher, fangirl, and book nerd. Not necessarily in that order!"
