Laura Rahman has been the librarian at Southmore Intermediate in Pasadena ISD for the past 12 years, bringing with her a total of 21 years of educational experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from the University of Houston and a Master of Science in School Library and Information Science from the University of Houston Clear Lake.

As a dedicated champion of information literacy, she is committed to empowering her students to become confident, independent seekers and creators of knowledge. As a passionate advocate for cultivating a love of reading, she helps students explore a variety of genres, gain access to informational books that ignite their curiosities, and find the perfect resources for their class assignments and projects. Through her dedication, she aims to create a community of learners and readers who understand the transformative power of literacy.
