Wes Hubert was a dominant lineman for South Houston High School's undefeated 1975 team before continuing his career at the University of Texas. At Texas, he became a three-year starter at center, blocking for Heisman Trophy winner Earl Campbell on the perfect-season team of 1977. Hubert was named first-team All-Southwest Conference his senior year and was included on the Longhorns' all-decade team for the 1970s. He was inducted into the Pasadena ISD Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.
