McCarty, Mickey

HOF Class of 2012

Mickey McCarty was an exceptional athlete, drafted by four professional leagues for baseball, football, and basketball. He excelled in all three sports at Pasadena High School and became a two-time All-Southwest Conference baseball player at TCU. McCarty even played in the 1968 NCAA basketball tournament. 

He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, earning a Super Bowl ring in 1969. After his professional sports career, McCarty faced significant health challenges, including a stroke and two heart transplants. He was inducted into the Pasadena ISD Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012 and passed away in 2010.
