Message from the Chief Nursing Officer

At Pasadena ISD, we believe that student health is foundational to student success. That’s why every campus is staffed with a dedicated Registered Nurse committed to supporting the well-being and academic achievement of all students.

Our school nurses are not only licensed professionals—they are also specially trained by experienced lead nurses in identifying, assessing, and addressing a wide range of student health needs. Their role is essential in ensuring students are healthy, safe, and ready to learn.

Each nurse plays a vital part in:

  • Ensuring students meet Texas immunization requirements,
  • Conducting all state-mandated health screenings,
  • Maintaining open communication with families to support student care.

The school health program exists because our community values the health of its children. When students’ health needs are unmet, learning can be significantly impacted. School nurses help remove these barriers by addressing correctable health issues and guiding students toward lifelong wellness.

Our mission is to promote a culture of health and wellness across all campuses. Through collaboration with administrators, teachers, and support staff, we strive to create a caring environment where every student can reach their full potential—physically, emotionally, and academically.
