Dr. Summers is a dedicated product of Pasadena ISD, having attended school and completed student teaching within the district. After earning her B.S.  in mathematics with an education minor from the University of Houston, she returned to teach at her high school alma mater before transitioning to central office in 2002. With over 20 years in performance reporting and accountability, she plays a vital role in assessment systems, data-driven instruction, professional development, and advisory support for leadership committees.

After earning her Ed.D. in School Improvement from the University of Texas – Tyler, her responsibilities expanded in 2024 to include federal programs, behavior response, after-school programs, parent and family engagement, and state assessments.

Dr. Summers and her husband, Shawn, are proud parents of two children—one a 2021 graduate and the other set to graduate in 2029—and are actively involved in their church, where she leads education and discipleship ministries.
