During his high school years, Chris distinguished himself as a formidable presence behind the plate for South Houston High School, a team renowned as one of the best in Pasadena ISD history. His contributions extended beyond the high school realm, as he played a pivotal role in American Legion South Houston Post 490's state title victory.

In 1988, as a senior, Tremie led the Trojans into the UIL playoffs, showcasing his talent with impressive statistics including a .447 batting average, five home runs, and 32 RBIs in just 76 at-bats. His outstanding performance earned him recognition with All-Greater Houston and all-state honors for both his junior and senior years. Notably, he was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 41st round but opted to pursue collegiate baseball at the University of Houston, where he excelled as a starter throughout his four-year tenure.

Following his collegiate career, Chris was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 39th round of the 1992 draft, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey across 17 different teams over 14 years. Throughout his professional career, he demonstrated exceptional defensive skills as a catcher and became known for his ability to mentor and teach others.

After retiring as a player in 2005, Chris seamlessly transitioned into a successful managerial role, starting with the Cleveland Indians' rookie-league affiliate in 2006. His managerial prowess led to notable achievements, including winning the Eastern League crown with Akron in 2012 and securing the International League title for Columbus, Ohio in 2016.

Currently, Chris remains actively involved in professional baseball as the minor-league field coordinator for the Cincinnati Reds, continuing to impart his wealth of knowledge and expertise to aspiring players within the organization.
