Becky Benner

Executive Director, Curriculum & Instruction

Becky Benner is an accomplished educator with a rich history of leadership roles in various educational institutions. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction at Pasadena Independent School District since August 2014, Becky oversees instructional programs for high schools, focusing on curriculum and assessment development, professional development, and instructional coaching. With a strong emphasis on collaboration and program coherency, Becky supports multiple comprehensive high schools, early college high schools, and career and technical high schools within the district.

Prior to this role, Becky served as a District Instructional Specialist in the Curriculum & Instruction Department, contributing significantly to curriculum design and assessment writing for science courses. Becky's passion for science education is evident from her tenure as a Science Curriculum Writer at NASA's Johnson Space Center, where she was involved in developing educational activities to enhance the understanding of science practices among students and educators.

Becky holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Cultural Studies from the University of Houston and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Biology from Houston Baptist University. With a wealth of teaching credentials and certifications, Becky is dedicated to fostering academic excellence and supporting the professional growth of educators and students alike.
