Executive Director, Curriculum & Instruction

Dan Hoppie is an accomplished educational leader with over two decades of experience in the field of education. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Curriculum for Pasadena Independent School District since July 2018, Dan has dedicated his career to enhancing student and adult learning. His responsibilities include providing support and training to intermediate school administrators and overseeing the implementation of K-12 mathematics curriculum across the district.

Prior to this role, Dan was the Principal at Morris Middle School from July 2013 to July 2018, where he managed a school-wide budget and ensured a safe and secure learning environment for all stakeholders. His leadership experience also includes serving as the Assistant Principal at Thompson Intermediate School from August 2007 to June 2013, where he supervised the ELAR department and provided professional development opportunities for staff.

Dan began his career as a Spanish/ESL teacher at Queens Intermediate School, teaching grades 6-8 and coaching football and basketball. He has also held positions as a Peer Facilitator, facilitating peer coaching and mentoring new teachers.

Dan holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Walden University, awarded in 2007, and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Teaching from Brigham Young University, awarded in 2002. His extensive experience and commitment to education have made him a respected figure in the field, dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment for students and educators alike.
