María del Carmen Palacios is a dedicated Multilingual Instructional Specialist for grades Kindergarten through Second Grade with over a decade of experience in elementary education. She specializes in bilingual and ESL education, bringing a wealth of knowledge in literacy, biliteracy, and dual language programs. María holds a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Dual Language Education from the University of Saint Thomas, Houston, and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University.

Throughout her career, María has excelled in various roles, including as a Kindergarten Dual Language Teacher, Third Grade Bilingual Teacher, and Literacy Instructional Coach at Garfield Elementary in Pasadena ISD. Currently, she serves as a Multilingual Instructional Specialist for grades Kindergarten through Second Grade in Pasadena ISD. Her extensive experience includes curriculum writing for Spanish Language Arts and presenting professional development at both campus and district levels.

María is fluent in English and Spanish and is known for her strong leadership skills and commitment to educational excellence. She is passionate about fostering a supportive and effective learning environment for both students and educators.
