Dená Puente

Campus Specialist, Reading Language Arts

Dená Puente is a passionate educational leader with 19 years of experience in the realm of English education. Currently, she thrives as a Campus Content Specialist at J. Frank Dobie High School, where she collaborates with teachers to craft and deliver engaging, rigorous instruction in English Language Arts. At the district level, Dená not only develops curriculum but also inspires high school English and humanities educators through professional development, particularly focusing on the art of writing and grammar.

Her journey has taken her through various high schools across Texas, where she has taught an array of courses, including AP English Language and Literature and Dual Credit classes. Dená holds both a Master of Education in Secondary English Education and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Louisiana State University.
Beyond the classroom, she is a yoga enthusiast, having earned a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification and a Social-Emotional Learning Facilitator Certification from Breathe for Change—a mindfulness and SEL program designed by educators for educators. Dená is wholeheartedly dedicated to nurturing teachers' growth as they champion literacy for the youth of Texas.
