Juanita Montoya-Silva

Campus Specialist, Reading Language Arts

Juanita Montoya-Silva is an educator with a rich background in teaching and curriculum development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing (2006) and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (2019) from the University of Houston, and she is a doctoral candidate in Professional Leadership in Literacy.

Currently serving as a Campus Content Specialist at Pasadena Memorial High School, Juanita coaches teachers and develops lesson plans, fostering leadership skills and enhancing instructional practices. Her previous experience includes teaching 10th-grade English, where she collaborated on curriculum writing teams and mentored new educators, as well as teaching 7th-grade English at both South Houston Intermediate and Jackson Intermediate.

An active participant in her field, Juanita has published articles and presented at conferences, focusing on curriculum development, student engagement, and interactive teaching strategies. She has also serves as a Gold Level Trainer for Abydos Learning International and is a certified SEL facilitator and yoga instructor with Breathe for Change. Juanita is passionate about encouraging literacy in our community.
