Public Meeting to Discuss Budget and Proposed Tax Rate

Public Meeting to Discuss Budget and Proposed Tax Rate

The tax rate adopted herein exceeds the Voter-Approval Tax Rate due to increased expenditures necessary to respond to a disaster.  An election to approve the adopted tax rate that exceeds the Voter-Approval Tax Rate is not required pursuant to Section 26.042(e) since the tax rate adopted is in response to a disaster.  In adopting this tax rate, the Board of Trustees affirmatively finds that on January 24, 2023, an EF-3 tornado caused widespread damage in the District, that a disaster declaration was issued by the Governor of Texas due to the tornado, that federal disaster assistance was requested, and that all requirements to adopt this tax rate pursuant to Texas Tax Code § 26.04(e) have been met.

The Pasadena Independent School District will hold a public meeting at 5:30 PM, August 27, 2024 in 3920 Mickey Gilley Blvd, Pasadena Texas 77505. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the school district's budget that will determine the tax rate that will be adopted. Public participation in the discussion is invited.
